February 2013

February started out really fun with our trip to Disneyland. That was so refreshing to get out of town for a while!

Next we celebrated Scott's birthday. It's not as exciting when you're an adult, but we tried to make it special for him anyway. His favorite icing on a cake is from the Reams on 47th South and 27th West (because they have a special bakery), so he trekked on over there to pick out his cake, funny boy! We had a nice dinner at Lonestar Steakhouse too.

A few days later we met Grandma and Grandpa for dinner at Famous Dave's BBQ to continue celebrating.

Valentine's Day was the next event. We gave the kids each a book and some chocolates. Scott gave me chocolates and a card, and I gave him Pirates of the Carribean 3, a card, and some M&Ms Salty Sweet Mix. The kids and I had a good time making cookies and suprising some grandparents and neighbors. Makayla was super excited to give her class Jake and the Neverland Pirates valentines and partake in the festivities at school.

Let's see, how about some depressing news squeezed in the middle of here.  Our back door is continuing to leak, not cool!

Remember what I said about hoping for a healthier month? Well, that wasn't in the plans apparently. Right after we returned from Disneyland, everyone got the flu AGAIN!

Then to make matters worse, Makayla got Pinkeye, or in medical terms, conjunctivitis.  Then she passed that along to Lincoln and Scott.  But we have nothing to complain about compared to some of our other family, like Blair getting pneumonia twice and Xander having a seizure caused by dehydration!! Yikes!!!

We took the kids to Nickelmania, a favorite spot of ours.

Makayla had her 100 days of school party. The kindergarteners were requested to dress up like 100 year olds. They definitely had some very cute costumes and paraded around the school. Fun idea!

We took a trip to the Zoo and it was practically emtpy, awesome!

Scott's parents came up and hung out with us for a few days.

Makayla drew some cute pictures of our family. The first one is Kristin and Scott, the last one has everyone in their church clothes.

Makayla had a great birthday celebration!

We ended the month by going on a double date with my brother Danny and his wife Dixie to Five Guys, Burgers & Fries and the zombie movie, Warm Bodies. I am so glad that our kids get excited for babysitters, it makes it easy to leave and have fun!

Fun month ... all except the leaking! Good luck with that!

I LOVE the idea for the kids to dress up as 100-year-olds! Makayla looks super cute!

And happy birthday to Scott and your sweet little SIX-year-old! Where does the time go?!

No health problems are fun (nor house problems), but the rest looked like a blast.
