Yard Renovations

Decided our yard deserved a makeover.  Pruned some plants, ordered some rocks and selected some new plants and garden grow boxes.

Before & after.

Took out the bush in front and the weeds. Before & after.

Before & after.

Took out a junk tree and planted a weeping pussy willow.

Random yard pics.

Grow boxes added.  Took out a tree and replaced with a peach tree. Also added rocks.

Scott and Makayla planted the grow boxes.

Grow boxes after one month!

And after two months!

Took out a rose bush, added rocks, plus planted grafted fruit trees in the back, an apple one and a pear one, along with two vines of magic kiwi plants.

And finished with rocks and weeding in the back.

May 2020

Went on a walk and saw ducks at the cemetary.  And we took Gus outside, which he despised.

Kiddos did their homeschool thing and home Young Women's thing during Covid.

Worked on the sprinklers and on throwing styrofoam airplanes.

Grandma made us masks and Scotty got a bird turd on his shoulder.

Cheered the elementary staff on during their parade.

Had a good Mother's Day. Started off with Sterling flying me a greeting he made and ended with dinner at Grandma's house with homemade edible bouquets.

Finally got to meet Baby John!!! And the boys painted their toys.

Makayla got heart attacked by the YW leaders.

The gray water from the laundry started backing up, YUCK!! Plus super stinky! And it was dangerously close to many things.  We had to take care of that, and I am thankful the mess wasn't worse!
Makayla made bracelets for all the Young Women and leaders.  Scott put together Stake Seminary graduation gift baskets and delivered them.  That was quite the effort!

A bird tried tapping through our chimney. And I got to visit my friend Penny.

Last day of school for these two!

Celebrated by playing at Nickelmania.

Spied a giant flag honoring the frontline healthcare workers. Kids played ball.

Finally made it to Lagoon and we had the whole place to ourselves!

Checked out flowers and fish.

Finally got to HOLD baby John! That was pretty special because during Covid, most people social distance by a minimum of 6 feet. I was super careful and clean and I got to hold him! After, we taught the boys how to play croquet.

Makayla was chosen as a Science Student of the year!  We are proud of her!

We got a little splashing pool.  Then we supported the Middle School's parade.

Makayla had a bright idea to to a family field day and she would not let this go. So we planned, set up, and played.  Everything was fun from hopscotch, to 4-square, to balloon volleyball, to lunch and swimming, etc. We completed out field day with dinner out to Denny's.

Scott bought praying mantises for us to scatter all over the yard.

And found some treasures from Sterling's 5th grade class.  They went to Career Day at the children's museum. Sterling got to work for an airline company for his job. Sterling and his friend had identical costumes with boys riding dinos, yet the friend is about a foot taller than him. Memorable 5th grade times.
