We headed down to Mount Pleasant for a week in August. Bought some new kayaks for our last summer hurrah. Good thing Scott took many pictures since mine are missing.
Day 1
Headed down to Palisades. What a cute and fun hidden little gem of water.
The water was plenty warm for swimming. And we had a blast paddling around.
Day 2
We took Helga (the mountain bus) out for the day.
We found a sheep dog and some sheep! And then ended the day, stopping at the Power Plant Park and finding some hidden bunny rabbits!
Day 3
Explored around the Fairview Museum. They have anything from art and dinosaur bones, to Joseph Smith sculptures to antique toys.
After a burger at the gas station, we headed to a great movie, "The Fighting Preacher" about a family who was assigned to establish the church in upstate New York. They dad gained respect by winning boxing matches. Nice show except for the annoying kid in front of us who squeaked with his chair the entire time and about drove us mad!
Day 4
Took the kayaks out again and explored little rivers and ponds around Mount Pleasant.
We had a relaxing time on a big lake at the end.
Day 5
Drove Helga again and ended up at a museum in Spring City.
Attempted to cross the mountain and make a giant loop, but an enormous boulder stopped us. The danger just was not worth it, so we turned around.
Ended the night with a bonfire and made s'mores. Scott and I started a new eating program (Weight Watchers), so the s'mores were a welcome treat after a week of eating healthier. We headed home the next day. So much fun to get out of town and make new memories!
