Halloween 2012

How is this for creepy? The kids came running in to tell me to check out the latest victim our cat Muttsy attacked. I went to the backyard and found this, a huge RAT! I have never seen such a big dead rat before, especially in my neighborhood! I wonder if it was someone's escaped pet, or if we really have wild rats running around?

Well, at least we were able to do some fun things for the Halloween season.

We made some tasty sugar cookies.

We went to a cute little neighborhood party for the kids.

Scott and I were able to go on a date to some spook alleys. First we visited Fear Factory in downtown Salt Lake City. This haunted house used to be a cement factory where all sorts of workers died on the job in machines, falling, or accidents. It was a spooky atmosphere and had quite a lot of stairs. I think it went up like 5 floors or something.  The scariest part was walking along a shaky wooden beam on the top floor with glass underneath it. With it wobbling back and forth, you thought if you fell, you were a goner.

We then visited Nightmare on 13th. This is Scott's favorite haunted house. He LOVES the animatronics there happily enjoys them. We have gone here for probably the past 3 or 4 years. They do switch it up so the place is entertaining. We also visited the 4 spook alleys at Lagoon, but there, we would just switch off watching the kids and go alone.  You feel like a loser/loner going alone, so it is much better to get a babysitter and go on a date.

Our kids were SUPER-heroes for Halloween.  I thought they looked great!

We visited grandmas to show the kids in costume.

Makayla had a Halloween singing program at school. She looked and did great! Grandma Diane came to watch.

The next day was her costume parade.

We went to the ward trunk-or-treat and decorated our trunk.  We gave out little fudge-striped cookie bags and bowling passes to Fat Cats.

We took the kids to our friends awesome neighborhood where people really get into the decoration spirit. One neighbor does a huge yard display every year. This one was a Flinstone theme with a slide going down the tail.

The kids got lots of candy. Makayla counted her 71 pieces two times.

What a day! But it was definitely a fun time!
