Makayla's Sweet 16th Birthday!

Our sweet daughter had her sweet 16th birthday. How did we get so old?!  She has been a delight to raise so far.   She is kind and cares about her friends.  She is quite outgoing and bubbly and can connect with others easily.  This year she took up lacrosse, so that has taken up a bunch of her free time; but she still has a positive attitude throughout the practices.

We went car shopping to several places and she fell in love with this blue jeep instantly.  She got inside it and admired the seats with their creative mountain elevation fabric design.  She would not get out and just took it all in, kept smiling, and we knew this was the car meant for her.

Makayla mostly wanted a new car and money for clothes, so made sure to do that.

Makayla had "the lunch bunch" girls over on her birthday.  We fed them pizza, veggies, cupcakes, and soda.  They seemed like they had a good time.

In the evening, we went to Black Bear Diner.  Olivia remembered Mak's birthday too, and gave her a cool record player air freshener for her new car.

We love Makayla and are blessed to have her in our lives.  Happy sweet 16th birthday, sweet girl!

Grandma Diane and Grandpa Matt's Homecoming

We are so proud of Grandpa and Grandma for successfully serving a mission for 18 months.  They went to the Polynesian Center in Oahu, Hawaii.  My dad was an electrician at the center and helped teach safety skills to the local workers.  My mom volunteered at the ukulele and fabric shop.  She helped people get familiar with the ukulele notes and showed them how to play simple songs.  They also helped take tickets at the evening show once a week.

They had a lot of family members come support them, including Annette and Erica.

My parents lucked out that the ward likes them so much as to let them have their luncheon there while a ward was in session.  We just had to be quiet until the other ward got out.

Scott and I were happy to visit with Grandma Hebdon.

The kids were able to play after the other ward got out.

The night before, we hung out at Mark and Lafaunda's home. Makayla and Claire found some fake eyelashes.

We also went to a movie, out to La Cocina, and target shooting up north.  It was a good weekend!

February 2023

We started February with a service project invitation from our sweet friend Rachel.  She pampered and served underprivileged girls for her birthday.  We enjoyed helping her!

Random pics of friends, Enzo and Carolina, plus our young men's group won the basketball championship! And a cute pic of our older two walking to the bus.

Random essays we found from our younger days.

Pics of the boys playing and sleeping.

Funny disguise for Scott, plus we took a day trip down to Vegas for a ward temple date.  We found some yummy food afterward.

And we cannot forget this guy! 43 years old and doing great!

Makayla was answered for the girl's pref dance.  This was her 1st time asking anyone to a dance!

Found some happy wedding gems.

Had a nice Valentines Day.  We celebrated our kids and made a tasty fondue dinner.

Bishop Paxton was given some really kind notes on his door by the activity girls.

The YM played games and the YW made modest paper dresses.

Silly cats and a new baby doll.  I learned not to put any cents after a dollar on ebay.  I wanted to put $15.50 as my top bid and it thought I put $1,550!  Yes, that was stressful.  There is no way I would ever want to pay that, and they would not let me change it.  So I sweated while the auction ended.  Thank goodness I got her for $37; I was pretty stressed!  $15 would have been ideal, but it could have been worse!!

We went from flowers to snow down here! Pretty extreme!

We decided to update our garden boxes, so we hired some friends to help us.

Sterling made a cutting board at school and Grandpa Marv got a heart surgery.

We ended the month checking out the Parade of Homes.
