Easter

Well, I would have blogged earlier about Easter, but I left my camera at my parent's house and couldn't get it until now. So that's the reason it's a little late.

Well, at the Paxton household we didn't do much Sunday morning since Scott had bishopbric/ church meetings from 7am-3pm. (Hooray!! He got released too!) We agreed that it wouldn't be as fun doing Easter without everybody. So after Scott got home we went to my parent's and had a yummy dinner and an egg hunt for Makayla.

Then we really celebrated Easter on Monday morning since I had my last day of Spring Break off school. We woke Makayla up and took her on a fantastic Easter Egg hunt in the backyard. She really had a blast! Then we made golden-rod (a Hebdon must! tradition) and let Makayla enjoy her basket while we happily watched.





Then we got really brave and took Makayla to her 1st big movie. It wasn't too fancy: Bolt at the Valley Fair Movies. She actually did awesome. Scott took her out for 15 minutes in the middle, and I think that did the trick! Plus of course buying popcorn & a drink to keep her entertained.

We'll have to do that again before we have kid #2 in about 9 weeks! My due date is actually June 17th instead of the 23rd according to my Dr. So the baby chart up top is about a week behind.

Its Official!! New Bishopric this Sunday!

My wife and I met with the Stake Presidency last night-- a new Bishopric will be called this Sunday. Yeah!! I'm so ready for a break! Now don't get me wrong, I love to serve-- but I'm ready for a break from long Sundays and mid-week meetings. This is the second Bishopric in a row... and now I just want to be the guy that sits on the back row and enjoys church.
Finally, Kristin won't have to be a Bishopric widow... and for me; now I can sleep in the congregation next to my family.
No more begging people to speak on Sundays, no more long unproductive meetings, no more early meetings, no more conducting. However, on the other hand I will also miss working so closely with members and seeing people progress and grow. I can't complain, the Lord's let me in on some spiritual experiences, that part I will miss.
If you're in the ward, please feel free to tell anyone you know. There's no need to keep the change secret. In fact, we'd love to see some people come out that aren't normally there. As for who the new Bishop will be-- well that I know, but can't tell.
