Ahhh, April, you just flew by. Can't say it was great because it wasn't the best. Our family has never been so sick all at once as this month.  At the beginning of April, the kids caught terrible colds. Lincoln, being so young, was the most affected.  We had to intervene with his cold with some machines they use for RSV such as a snot sucking machine (self explanatory) and a nebulizer, which pumps abuterol into little baby's lungs through a breathing mask. We did these treatments for about a week until little Lincoln started feeling better.  Then we all got the flu, starting with Makayla who passed it to Sterling, then to Lincoln, then to Mama, then to Daddy, you get the picture....   Scott's businesses also slowed down quite a bit this month, which was just more stress added to our sick family.  Luckily, things seem back on the upswing for May.  Wow, April will not be missed!

We were able to do a few fun things though.

Makayla had a clever bunny rabbit themed party at her preschool.  I just love watching her and how cute she is at school with the teacher and her friends.

She was also able to take our cat Muttsy to show and tell at preschool later on in the month for rainbow day.  Muttsy has 3 different colors of fur, plus yellow eyes and a pinkish nose.  We've had Muttsy for 1 year now and got her at the Humane Society when she was a 2 month old kitten.  She's energetic and plays with our kids who push her around in strollers and a toy dump truck, lucky cat!

We had a nice Easter, although with church at 9am, we weren't REALLY able to enjoy it until we were home.  We made some yummy goldenrod for lunch and then ate a ham dinner at my parent's home with the cousins. The kid had a good time dying eggs a week earlier.

We have been playing a lot outside in the beautiful weather.  I just love this time of year when the temperature is just right outside. We finally got family photos taken at Murray Park. I am grateful to my friend Shara for offering to take those for us. Can't wait to see them!

I got a new calling as the ward Compassionate Service Leader. And I had a funeral 2 days later. This job entails putting together a luncheon for families of a funeral, including setting up, serving, and cleaning up. Also the leader is supposed to coordinate meals for surgeries, new babies, and as needed. Talk about baptism by fire! I was busy coordinating everything, setting up tables with Scott and our kids running rampant, cooking a ham, decorating, getting a sign-up sheet around Relief Society, presenting the food, cleaning up, I don't think I've been as overwhelmed since finals at college 10 years ago.  Hopefully I get better at the cooking thing. I would love to learn how to bake rolls.

We took our family to City Creek Center and looked at the beautiful fountains.

We went to a family gathering for lunch last weekend at my parent's home and ate shish-ka-bobs and enjoyed meeting baby Phillip, Maria and Dallin's new baby.  He looks pretty cute with his wild hair.  We then went to a ward dinner/auction and bought some babysitting certificates to support the young women.

Scott's parents come home from their mission in Germany in just under 3 months! We are looking forward to spending time with them.  My brother Ben comes home from his Seattle, Washington mission in 1 month! Hopefully May can be a healthy month for us!

I'm going to sneak in a few more posts from February.  We  celebrated Scott's birthday on a quiet Sunday, the 12th. We had a nice dinner and my parents came over for cake and ice cream. 

Makayla had her first ever friends birthday party on Saturday the 25th.  She was super excited and turned out well.  She invited some primary friends and some preschool friends. We had a carnival theme, so we ate corndogs and played all sorts of carnival games like pin the nose on the clown, ring toss, and the stuffed animal crane.  I'm so glad it worked out and she had fun.  On her real birthday, the 27th, she chose to eat dinner at McDonalds with grandma and grandpa and play with her brothers on the slides.

We went to kindergarten orientation (Makayla and I). Really, she is 5 years old? Where did the time go? In the Fall,  Sterling will miss her so much when she is gone 5 days a week instad of the 3 she is now gone weekly at preschool.  He can't wait to pick her up every time. She is so imaginitive and they are always pretending they are pirates driving a ship and looking for treasure, going on a picnic, or pretending one of them is a pet horse or a dog. She is such a joy to have in our family. I just love that girl! And I love that she is the oldest because she is really nurturing to both of her brothers. She watches out for them and protects them.

Lincoln got his first hair cut from Grandma. She does such a great job with cutting. I've tried doing Sterling's hair before and it was a disaster, so as long as she's willing, I am more that happy for her service.

Lincoln had his first birthday on March 5th. We took him to Chuck E. Cheese and let him play on the rides and nibble on some pizza. He seemed to have a good time.

Lincoln started walking! I can't believe it, he is completely walking, anywhere and everywhere. He finally decided that it's much easier to stay up, than just take a few steps and then sink down and crawl to get back up again. I love how cute he looks when he walks because he walks diagonally, like he tries to walk a strait line but always ends up crookedly waddling across the room, sooooo cute!!

For St. Patrick's day, Makayla decided to make several leprechaun drawings as a peace offering so they wouldn't be mischevious. Leprechauns ended up leaving us some cookies and not doing anything too crazy except move her drawings and some fake trees we have.

I lost my diamond while at church the week before conference. I just looked down at my ring on the way to Sunday School and I couldn't believe it had a gaping hole in it! I panicked and recruited everyone that was in earshot to help me scour around the hallways and chapel.  One lady even had a flashlight and was looking in corners. Scott and I decided to go out to the parking lot and after much looking, Scott found it on the ground a few feet from our car! What a relief and what a great place to lose it (if you have to lose one) because the people are so willing to help and honest also. That was definitely a miracle and I am thankful for the blessing of finding it. On our way inside the building (at the start of church) Makayla had exclaimed, "What's that sparkly thing?!" And I had just brushed it off, because we were in a hurry, responding that we would look at it after church.  Good thing she was inspired to say that because I was convinced that I had lost it inside of the church, but Scott had remembered Makayla's comment. We emptied a water bottle and put the diamond in there. Funny thing is that another diamond was found in the process of the ward helping look, but that one turned out to be fake. I am glad for friendship and miracles in my life.
