General Conference was amazing this year because it felt normal after having home church for the two weeks prior. The speakers social distanced themselves and were in a little theater at the Conference Center. The music was previous recordings of the Tabernacle Choir. All in all, a very touching experience. I built Sterling a Nerf gun and we played Bingo for quarters while listening. Makayla gave a nice talk on faith the next week. She reminded us that she was sick one morning when we were headed to Six Flags. She asked her dad to give her a priesthood blessing and because of her faith, she was able to feel better and join us and have a great day.
All the parks shut down for people because of worry of spreading germs. And Scott met his friend / employee Brian (a history buff / Abraham Lincoln fanatic) for a few meetings.
Scott and Makayla took up the art of making bread.
We got a new front door. The white one went and the brown one came.
We also got a new side door, very similar looking. Only, the new one has a full window. A much better view for the cats. ;)
Cooked some s'mores and beef brisket.
Appreciated the pets.
Kids were fascinated with sparklers.
Hung outside for long stretches.
Took up a new hobby: geocaching. We had a good time with this. You basically follow GPS coordinates to find hidden treasure boxes. Then you sign your name on the roster and exchange a toy if you want. We found several on the Old Mill trail.
Our Easter celebrations included a chocolate egg hunt outside, dyeing eggs and Mak created a special one for me :), yummy treats and full baskets, and home church with a good lesson by Scott on the Atonement.
Even though we couldn't gather for Easter, my family still made goldenrod and texted pictures. So at least we could feel a little together. Pictures are from my parents, us, Danny, Wendy, Maisy, and Maria. I think this should be a new tradition!
The trampoline saved the kids from boredom.
We took Gizmo out for the first time in his life. He was not a fan. Rosco was fearless though.
Took an evening hike and looked for a hidden geocache (and failed). But it was fun.
Water fights and Sterling got an early birthday gift- a new bike!
