October 2012

Our family had an adventurous October.  First we visited Kennecott also known as Bingham Canyon Mine.  Our boys were mesmerized by the non-stop trucks.  Sterling kept saying, "I want this one for my birthday and I want that one for my birthday." Funny boy!

We visited Frightmares at Lagoon a few more times.  We have most certainly gotten our money's worth out of our season passes.  They do a fun trick-or-treat area for the kids and even give out decent stuff like little cars, hair headbands, and candy of course. Our kids have grown during the summer. Now Sterling can go on Bombora, a fun beach themed roller coaster. That is his new favorite ride. And Makayla can now go on Wicked, The Spider, Screamer, and White Roller Coaster. These kids are growing like weeds!

On one of Kayla's days off school we decided to go bowling.

My mom-in-law invited me and my two sis-in-laws to a girls weekend in Richfield called 'Time Out For Women' sponsored by Deseret Book.  They have traveling motivational speakers who go around the country to uplift people.  Some of the speakers included  Sheri Dew, Mercy River, and Jenny Oaks Baker.  It really was so nice to get away for a few days and just have some girl time.  Scott was a trooper with the kids. I was really surprised to learn he took the kids to Frightmares and 2 play places all by himself. Go Scott!

We checked out the new Scheels sporting goods store.  They had a shooting range that Scott was fond of.  They also have places all over the store called photo booths where you can snap pictures. Other than that, we prefer the feel of Cabela's, which has better animal displays and bigger aquariums.

Makayla had a crazy hair day for Red Ribbon week at school.

We got our first snowstorm October 25th. The kids were delighted to play in the backyard and explore.

Halloween is just around the corner, and my next post will reflect our fall festivities.
