He's Here!

Finally, our baby boy came to meet us! After being 1 week overdue, I was scheduled to be induced on the morning of Wednesday, June 24th. I think my body was relieved that we finally knew when he would come, so it relaxed and my water broke the night before at 5:30p.m. It was just like the movies too, a Niagra Falls downpour! Luckily, it happened in the kitchen where it could easily be mopped up. We gathered my things and Makayla's things for Grandma's and after dropping Makayla off, and after finishing up the paperwork, went to the delivery room at 6:30 p.m. Everything went smooth as could be, and our son was ready to come out by 10:30 p.m. My doctor was helping another person at that time, so basically, the nurses told me to stop pushing until the Dr. could be there to see the delivery. Finally.... an hour later she came in, and our cute little guy arrived soon after.

The Countdown is On

Well, we've been living at our new place for 2 weeks now. We're still not completely unpacked, but, we're making progress - so that is good. Scott found the camera and I was so excited! For some reason, I have my mind-set that I must have a picture to go with a post, even though I know that's not true.

My sweet visiting teachers from my old ward (downtown SLC) decided to throw me a baby shower for our soon-to-be baby boy. I wasn't so sure about that, but they insisted; and I was grateful to get a few things for our son.

There were these 2 very cute old ladies (88 and 90 I think) at the ward shower who made me a blanket with all of their 80's fabric. Don't you just love the neon yellow? I think the blanket will be well used.

A few days ago, the junior high where I work also threw me a last minute shower. The shower was originally for another teacher who is having her first baby, but the ladies hosting it said that too many people were asking why I wasn't included. I was completely fine with not being a main event (since this is kid #2), but hey, if people want to be generous, I can definitely use a few things. I am so thankful for how thoughtful people are. I've only worked at this school for 1 year, so I was pretty surprised by the all of the support. :)

Even Scott's Mom and my Mom have given us some baby boy clothes. It will be so nice to have our baby dressed in blue instead of pink :)

I am so glad that school is out! I can't WAIT to relax for the summer (or at least until our son arrives). The Dr. says that things are progressing right on schedule, and I will probably be delivering on my due date: June 17th, or very close to it.

On a different note, we declawed our 9-month-old cat #2, CLEO, on Friday. We knew we had to declaw her because she is tearing up our furniture, plus gets her paws caught in Makayla's toys, our drapes, and even tablecloths. The poor kitty has to wear these bandages for 2 days, use a special wood pellet litter, and take pain medication. Scott and I refer to her as "officially ours" now that we've spent some money on her.
