Makayla's Two!

e

Our sweetie turned 2 years old on February 27th! I can't believe we've been parents for 2 years now. The time has really flown by. I took the day off work and just enjoyed the time with Makayla. In the morning we took her out and let her pick out some balloons and cupcakes. Then we went to Jungle Jim's Playland (an indoor theme park designed for little kids). She had a blast! Her favorite ride was the "roller coaster" ride (very similar to the Music Express at Lagoon. Daddy (Scott) had to go on it with her since I'm prego. They went on it at least 5 times. Her next favorite ride was the merry-go-round. She just loves horses! Admission was quite reasonable too and all adults get in free.

For dinner we treated her to Weinerschnitzel because corndogs are one of her favorite foods. They have cute little ones there. Then we rented Madagascar 2 and had a small party for her. For her birthday, among other things, we got her a big girl bed and a wagon. Such a big girl!!! We love you Makayla!

Fish Lake Trip.

Before Fish Lake
At Fish Lake

I haven't updated for several weeks it seems like. A lot has been going on.... Scott had a birthday; he's a big bad 29 years old now. I think next year will be harder for him since he'll be over the hill.

Scott's parents invited us on an "adult's only" trip to Fish Lake. They rented a cabin and we went down from Thursday night to Monday morning along with his brother and sister and their spouses. Yes, we had to drop Makayla off at Grandma Diane's (that's what we call her). Luckily, we knew that Makayla was in good hands at Grandma's. She seemed to have a great time.

At Fish Lake, we rented a cabin and basically hung out. The guys went ice fishing several times and the girls read books, did puzzles, and relaxed. We all played a ton of games, board ones, card ones, and a lot of Wii and XBox. We ate really well, such as lobster and shrimp for Valentine's Day. Best of all, we bonded. We don't get to see Scott's family as much as we'd like because of how far away we live from them. So it was great to get away for a few days.
