I was proud of my two school aged kids for entering Reflections this year. The theme was: The World Would Be A Better Place If: Makayla entered 3 categories; Sterling just 1. Here are their creations.
Cute Kitten
The world would be a better place if everybody had a cat. If everybody had a cat, the cat would get gophers and mice. Cats would teach you to be more calm. I love my cats. Do you have a cat? You should!
My Beautiful Garden
The world would be a better place if everybody had a garden. If everybody had a garden, you could feed poor people. People would get exercise. You wouldn't have to go to the store as much. I would like to see more gardens.
Amazing Jetpacks
The world would be a better place if everybody had a jetpack. If everybody had a jetpack you could be on time for school. If you had a meeting and you had to get to work, you would get there fast. You could save peoples' lives. I wish that I had a jetpack.
The Jungle
Sterling created this one. The world would be a better place if we had more jungles for animals to sing in. (Namely monkeys)
There was an awards assembly where they were recognized for their participation.
Makayla's Garden 3D art and the photo of our kitten, Gizmo, were selected to move on to the next level. The Mayor of Cottonwood Heights, Kelvin Cullimore, was the presenter. It was neat that she could meet him.
So proud of both of my kids for participating in Reflections!
We went and supported Makayla at the next level. She received an award of Merit for her 3D garden. Good job to both of my kids for taking a chance and participating!
