Cherry Hills & Lagoon

The Paxtons went camping up north this year to Cherry Hills in Kaysville.  Scott's parents, us, and Bryan & Candaylyn's family went. We had a great time! 

We arrived on Father's Day after church.  

We walked around and explored the park.

Madison entertained my kids.  Best niece award!

Then we played croquet and Sterling had fun with his remote controls.

Monday morning we were ready to play in the park with all day passes.  

And swim did we ever!  They have some fun slides and splash areas.  The lazy river was a top choice.  Lincoln's favorite, hands down, was the double dragon water slides.  He was ecstatic riding down on mats with us.  He couldn't get enough of the thrill of the slides. 

Then we took a break from swimming and shot each other with soft balls.

We made a good day even better by playing mini golf after dinner.  That course is awesome!  Scott and I have decided we will drive up in the future just to mini golf.

Sterling turned 6 years old up there!  He is so full of life and loves running around and playing with anything remote control.  He is a happy, creative, sensitive, teaser, collector, energetic, full of good ideas boy.   He always brings a toy car anywhere we go.  He will not leave the house without one; whether he slips it in his pocket, or leaves it in the car while we run errands.  He is always creating something new with old boxes and glue or piecing together Legos.  His feelings are easily hurt and he seems to always be teasing his brother.  He can dish out teasings, but not take them so well.  He is a packrat and tries to keep everything.  He is convinced that he can put garbage to good use by building something with it.  I am awed by his creativity! He always has plenty of energy.  We love him a lot and are glad he's part of our family. 

  His gifts were, you guessed it: cars, remote controls, and Legos.  He was one happy boy!

 Marv and Vickie graciously bought everyone a Lagoon ticket, so we thoroughly enjoyed Tuesday there.  

 The biggest hit for us was "Rattlesnake Rapids".  This year Lincoln was tall enough to ride, so we went on it 4 times, and boy did we get soaked!  So much fun!!

Cousins on "Wicked", my personal favorite ride.  Makayla was thrilled to pal around with her cousins and go on all the big rides since she is tall enough.

And a beautiful peacock as we exited off the "Log Flume".  Such a great day!  We were there from open to close.

Wednesday morning we went out to breakfast at Sill's Cafe in Layton.  Look at the size of those hotcakes!  Then we went back and packed up the trailer to leave since I needed to get to girls camp.  All in all, it was just what we needed; a break from the same old day-to-day routine.  Good times!

June 2015

Makayla finished 2nd grade and Sterling finished Kindergarten when school ended June 5th. We thought it would be a fun surprise to give them a little gift to celebrate their accomplishments. They came home to find gifts and excitedly opened them.

Ran into my twin cousin Skye at Uncle Greg's viewing.  Her dad was a foreign exchange student from England who was hosted by my dad's family for a few years way back.  Since they didn't have any family from Uncle Columb's side in America, they joined us for family parties.  We are not blood related, but I will always consider Skye a cousin.

My dad rode over and stopped for a glass of water.  That was a fun surprise!  He inherited this bike from Uncle Greg.

Performed baptisms at the Salt Lake Temple for one of the first times.  Usually, we attend Jordan River Temple.

Scott's parents came up and stayed with us.  Marv showed me this wedding picture and I wanted a copy for myself.  I love my in-laws. They always support us in our decisions.

And I love this guy.  What a goof!

Went up to Snider Mill for a family reunion.  We loved our time up there.  The kids liked the playground.

The adults liked strategy games.  Scott won an intense game of Risk after about 4 hours. :)

We ventured up to Heritage Park and enjoyed the surroundings.

And we had dinner at Grandma & Grandpa's.  The kids picked strawberries after.

Lowe's building project was completed.

The kids attempted a sleepover on the tramp.  Yeah, that lasted about 20 minutes.  You know, the boogeyman might getcha!

I won a bag of chips for submitting a picture of sharing the summer. I thought that was neat and let my dad have it since he is the one pushing Lincoln in the swing.

Cooling off with water was a great idea since the temperatures soared around 102 degrees!

I went up to girls' camp for a few days.  We had a great time!  It was a "BOOT" camp theme. (Build on our testimonies) Our stake does a fine job every year.

And Scott and I celebrated our anniversary by going to a decent magic show at Capitol Theater, "The Illusionists."  There were 7 talented magicians who performed. Then we went to Chinese food after.

Happy 13 years to us! May this be our luckiest year yet!
