Supported Makayla's tournament in Farmington and they won the silver medal! Finding old cars on the property was a bonus.
Bought 50 bricks and put them under the fence to keep Rosco contained. That cat is an escape artist and will bee-line it for Dan & Vicki's house any chance he gets. Plus, he was going in another neighbor's doggy door at one point. Passed 30k miles on the van.
Took my mom and saw my neighbor Catherine in the play "Dirty Dancing". And got in one last show at Clark.
Took a refreshing walk on the Old Mill trail.
Makayla made cookies for some elderly friends in the ward. One couple, the Permains, dropped off a cake to thank her. Makayla also created some pots and attempted to grow some flowers.

Coronovirus and Quarantine

A freak virus has been spread around the world from China, referred to as Covid-19 or the Coronavirus. It zaps the lungs of older folks or ones with underlying health issues. Other symptoms include a high fever, cough, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, chills, muscle pain, and difficulty breathing. The fact that it's airborne is terrifying. Most people do not have symptoms, but can spread it to the compromised population. Kids generally are fine. Because of how contagious it is, school and church were publicly cancelled, and replaced with home centered studying. As of March 14, 2020, people are asked to stay home unless they social distance themselves from others, with a minimum of 6 feet and face masks. All gyms, churches, schools, theaters, entertainment, and non essential stores (like the mall) are closed for now.
Got ready for home Church by making wheels. Makayla made the assignment one so we know who is doing what. Scott put together the music one to liven things up.
Grocery store shelves were emptied in a matter of minutes. Toilet paper, towels, and hand sanitizer were first to go. Next was sugar and flour. Lastly, canned goods and breads disappeared. You couldn't help but feel like it was apocalypse times.
We headed to Flat Iron Mesa Park for something to do.
Another day we explored Golden Hills Park.
Kids made leprechaun traps. Lincoln's had a special message:
"Free oreo inside. Get to the inside by getting to the top. Don't give me candy." And he drew an oreo on it. They ended up getting cookies and chocolate gold coins.
Made corned beef & cabbage. The store only had purple cabbage left. Kids played in their hut.
March 18th we woke up at 7:10 to a 5.7 magnitude earthquake!! It cracked up our back porch, house, and driveway. And we felt a few more aftershocks throughout the week. Yikes!!!
Visited several more parks including: Hollow Mill, Crestwood, Antczak, Willowcreek, and Bywater Park. And Scott smoked ribs another day.
Lots of schoolwork and scooter rides were the new normal. By the way, home school is hard! Seriously, I just about lost my mind trying to help Lincoln find what he needed to do and how to access it, plus motivate him. Luckily, Makayla is super responsible with schoolwork and Sterling at least independently works.
Scott grew a 'coronastache' for almost 2 weeks. Then he was sick of the scratchiness and shaved it away.
Snow came towards the end of the month. We had to take advantage and went sledding at the rec center. Then we went up the mountains and played around the deep snow.
Another day we hung out the the bird refuge. We had the best time up there, skipping rocks, bird watching, and having a picnic.
And noted the progress of the high school. The foil at the top lit up our house like a Christmas tree when the sun reflected off of it. We were glad when they finished the bricking.
