Sweet Makayla

Makayla is such a sweet girl. I am very lucky to have a daughter be the oldest child in our family because she is very nurturing to her little brothers. She will often help them and play make believe games with them. Makayla turned 6 on February 27th! I gave Makayla a birthday interview to learn some of her favorite things. Thanks cousin Kiley for the idea!

What is your favorite color? Blue.

What is your favorite toy? My Little Ponies, dolls, and Barbies.

What is your favorite fruit? Pears.

What is your favorite TV show? Jake and the Neverland Pirates and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

What is your favorite thing to eat for lunch? The toothpick lunch (where we eat meats, cheese, fruits, and veggies with a toothpick).

What is your favorite thing to wear? Dresses in the summer and when it's winter, a skirt and leggings.

What is your favorite game? Touch screen computer games. (Think like some McDonald play places have them. We have one on the counter in the kitchen.)

What is your favorite snack? Handisnacks (spreadable cheese with crackers).

What is your favorite animal? I love all the animals. (Although she adores our two cats, Sparkles and Muttsy.)

What is your favorite song? ABC Alphabet Song and I am a Child of God.

What is your favorite book? Wacky Wednesday by Dr. Suess.

Who is your best friend? Jeffrey from school. (Apparently they play at every recess games like superheroes and thundercats). At the beginning of the schoolyear, girls in her class told her she couldn't play with him because he is a boy. She has since proven the girls wrong! And even included some of them in her games with the boys. :)

What is your favorite thing to do outside? In the winter make snow angels and snowmen. In the summer go to Lagoon!

What is your favorite thing to do inside? Make art projects. (This girl is a budding artist!)

What is your favorite drink? Hot chocolate, milk, water, and root beer.

What is your favorite holiday? My birthday!

What do you like to take to bed with you at night? Flake (her doll that she has had since she was a baby and she named her Flake).

What is your favorite thing to eat for breakfast? Lucky Charms cereal.

What do you want for dinner on your birthday? A happy meal with chicken nuggets at the Play Place.

What do you want to be when you grow up? A zookeeper.

What is your favorite movie? Monsters Inc. and The Little Mermaid.

What is your favorite dessert? Brownies and cake.

What kind of cake do you want on your birthday? I want to pick one from Sam's Club.

What kind of ice cream do you want on your birthday? Oreo ice cream.

What is your favorite thing to do with Dad? Hang out with him in his office. (Usually she is drawing next to him.)

What is your favorite thing to do with Mom? Clean the house, do dishes, and mop. ( Sad, I need to play more with her! Although she does frequently ask to play hide-and-seek with me, and we do.)

What is your favorite thing to do with Sterling? Play in the backyard and play cars.

What is your favorite thing to do with Lincoln? Play with him in the backyard.

What is your favorite thing about kindergarten? Worktime cuz' there's fun things to do.

What is your favorite sport? Running....

If you could go anywhere, where would you go? Four wheeling in the mountains.

What is your favorite treat? Oreos.

Makayla ended up having a great birthday! She enjoyed picking out her chocolate cake and Oreo ice cream, just like she wanted. She shared Oreos packs with her class. She was delighted with her art supplies and created several pieces of work. Grandpa Matt and Grandma Diane came over to visit her. When we asked what her favorite gift was, I thought for sure she would say her new gameboy, but she answered her how to draw books: a flower one, a car one, an animal one, and a people one. She has had a lot of fun with her art set and her new games.

She chose to go to McDonalds for dinner and then to Hollywood Connections. We played on the rides, arcades, and mini golfed. It was a fun family party for her. Now I have a big sweet 6 year old, wow, hard to believe!!!
