We had a scary thing happen in the Paxton family. Apparently, Marv fell outside a few weeks ago and smacked his head on the cement steps. He thought he would take Advil and Tylenol to ease the headache, but the throbbing never really went away. Fast forward a few weeks and on Wednesday, February 28, 2025, Marv could not use his left leg or arm and was dragging his leg behind him to walk. He thought he had a stroke and asked Vickie to take him to the emergency room. They arrived and after and MRI, it was discovered that Marv had a big brain bleed that needed attention immediately. So they loaded him on an ambulance and took him to the St. George Hospital. He was admitted and was given brain surgery the next morning. Something important was that his sons, Scott and Bryan, were there and helped give Marv a priesthood blessing. Marv was told that the surgery would be a success and that he would regain the use of his body and mind once again. The blessing and surgery were a miracle in Marv's life and his blessing was realized. The surgery went smoothly and he seems as good as usual with his conversational skills and even a bit of wit mixed in with that. He was even doing so well that he did not have to be in the intensive care unit after the surgery. Most brain surgery patients are automatically taken there to recover, but Marv was an exception because of his priesthood blessing and angels helping him. He was able to recover in a normal hospital room where we all could visit him and lift his spirits. He was only in the hospital for 3 days and 2 nights. Then he was signed out to recover at home with Vickie helping him. He can do everything independently, he just needs to take care of his head and make sure not to hit it. We are so happy and blessed that Marv survived the brain bleed and surgery. We are thrilled to be able to make some new memories with him on this earth. The power of the priesthood is real and we are so glad to have this in our lives! We love Marv aka Dad aka Grandpa!
