What I chose for my birthday gift was an electric tree trimmer.  Yay for modern conveniences; already has saved me tons of time on our bushes!

My mom and dad took us to dinner for my birthday.

I met up with cousin Stuart at the Museum of Curiosity.

The cousins played at the museum.

Visited Nickelmania. On a side note: Scott got a new church calling as the adult gospel doctrine teacher.  He has been working so hard on his lessons every week, averaging 12 hours per lesson!

Makayla was on a roll at the arcade. She got her name in the top list 4 times! MVP = Makayla Vianne Paxton, a Most Valuable Person.

Saw the BFG movie after we read the book.

Met up with these guys at the park.

Built some skateboard pencil boxes.

Kids played.

Scott was pretty excited to find some Crystal Pepsi.

And Kayla and I did a puzzle.

My sisters and I took my mom out to lunch for her birthday.  So good to be together!

Maisy and Blair blessed their new baby, Jacob Mark Curtis.

Blair's parents have the best backyard!

We met up with Maisy's family for a drive in movie night.

Went bowling and mini golfing at Fat Cats.

We went on a vacation with the Bjarnson side to Aspen Grove.

And before we knew it, summer was over.  School started Wednesday, August 24th.

Sterling is in 2nd grade with Mrs. Rasmussen.  He wants to be a computer guy when he grows up.

Makayla is in 4th grade with Mrs. Neilson.  She wants to be a teacher when she is grown up.

First day tradition: a surprise waiting for them after school.

He got to start kindergarten on Monday, August 29th.

His teacher is Mrs. Kikkert, a lady in our ward.  Lincoln wants to create computer programs when he grows up.

Grandma Vickie and Grandpa Marv came up and spent the weekend with us.  Makayla created these pictures of them.  We got a good laugh from the unmistakable resemblances they had.

And look what Makayla found! Some praying mantises that we let go this spring. They are grown up and still protecting our turf.
